DIY: Body Scrub

Since Spring is coming to an end the tank tops, and shorts are coming out of the bins, and you're showing off a little more skin. Yet, some of us still have our pale, ashy skin from the wintertime, and want something quick and easy to resolve it. This scrub is the solution to get rid of that dull looking skin, and exfoliate away those dead skin cells. It will leave you having

beautiful healthy smooth skin

Here's a list on items that you will need.

  1. a bowl, or plate

  2. a spoon

  3. sugar

  4. honey

  5. baby oil(optional)

  6. lotion (any kind, but I would recommend using a very moisturizing one)

Once you have all of the items in front of you put one cup of the lotion of your choice.

Then pour in 2 tablespoons of honey, and 3 tablespoons of sugar.

Last, pour in one teaspoon of baby oil

Mix everything together and ready to exfoliate your skin for the summertime. It's that simple! After exfoliating you can take the remaining scrub, and put in the fridge. It should last for a little over a week. Also, if you only want to use the scrub once cut the measurements in half.

Hope you enjoyed!

MAC's Venomous Villians Collection

Hey guys! Today I received my Allure Magazine in the mail. I was looking through it, and came across a MAC add. Once I saw this add, I couldn't wait to tell you all about it! On September 30th MAC will be releasing their Disney-inspired Venomous Villains Collection! This collection will feature Cruella De Vil from "101 Dalmatians", Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty", Doctor Facilier from "The Princess, and the Frog", and the Queen from "Snow White." This collection comes with blush, beauty powder, eye shadow, lipstick, lip glass, eyeliner, pigment and nail polishes. Just look how amazing the packaging is! I really cannot wait to get my hands on these products!

Item of the Week

Hey guys, I'm sorry for being late on the item of the week. For this week I chose Benefit's Hoola Bronzer. This bronzer gives you the perfect finish, and has the cutest packaging. It does not make you look orange at all, which I know a lot of people are concerned about. The Hoola Bronzer gives off a very natural matte finish. I have never used the brush before, but from reading other reviews I heard it is not good at all. They said the hairs of the brush fall out easily, and it doesn't give off the flawless finish. The retail price of this product is $28. You can find Benefit's Hoola Bronzer at any Sephora, or BenefitCosmetics.com

Item of the Week

Hey everyone! Since I'm going to be doing the top 5 products of the month, I figured I would also include my top product of the week. For this week I choose my Urban Decay Eyeliner in "Zero." After buying the eyeliner I fell in love. Zero is very pigmented, glides on perfectly. The only downside about this product is that it does seem to smudge easily, so make sure when you leave the house to bring it with you. You will have to reapply it every so often.

Inspiration

Lately many people have been asking me how did I get into makeup, or what inspired me to do my fan page/blog. Basically it took a long way to get up here, and I still have a long way to go. I started wearing makeup when I was in 8th grade. I pretty much only wore eyeliner, and maybe a little bit of mascara. As I got into high school, I started to wear more makeup such as, eye shadow, lip gloss, face powder, etc. When I entered my junior year of high school I saw myself, and my makeup collection growing. I wanted to do certain looks but I wasn't 100% sure how to achieve them, so I went to YouTube for advice.

I searched for makeup tips, and the first video that came up was from, JuicyStar07. I watched Blair's(JuicyStar07) videos, and loved everyone of them. I then started to find other gurus who also had makeup channels, such as Allthatglitters21, MakeupByLeinaBaaaby, DulceCandy 87, JLovesMac1, and soooo many more! From there on I was hooked. I noticed my makeup was advancing, and I was finding which products were good, and which ones were bad.

After watching almost 3 years of beauty related YouTube videos I wanted to get my stuff out there too. I'm not so much a camera person so I decided to create my own fan page on Facebook; Makeup By Brittany.( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bayonne-NJ/Makeup-By-Brittany/114612301902145 ) I never thought anyone would join it, but they did. My page now has over 200 fans. Also when I started the page, I began to free lance. The fan page opened up many opportunities for me. All of the guru's on Youtube really taught me what I needed to know, and inspired me to go forth with my fan page, and blog. I'm very happy where my page as taken me. I'm now defiantly looking towards becoming a professional makeup artist in the future. Thanks for reading (:

Skin Tips

Hey everyone! So now that summer is officially here, most of us are having problems with our skin. The sun is very damaging to our skin, and leads to an excessive amount of dead skin cells on your face. For some others your skin will be very oily as well. I found out a quick, and very accessible way to help clear your skin (: All you need is a lemon(or lemon juice) & a teaspoon of sugar. Try to use organic lemons, so you're not putting chemicals into your pores.
This is all you need to do...

  1. Wet your face with luke warm water.
  2. If using a lemon, squeeze out the juice onto a cotton ball/round pad. (if you just have the juice already made, you would obviously skip this step.)
  3. Take a teaspoon of sugar, and put it on the cotton ball over the lemon juice.
  4. Then rub onto your face, mainly focusing on your problem areas.
  5. Rise with warm water.
  6. Finish off with cool water.

& that's it! Yes, it's that easy! This trick leaves your face feeling soft, and smooth. I recommend to do this process every 2 to 4 days, depending on how sensitive your skin is. I hope this helped!

Love,

Brittany<3
